Shirlee's Favorite Vanilla Yogurt

Yield: 5 1/2 quarts

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Splenda
  • 1 gal. 1% milk
  • 1 qt. plain whole milk yogurt
  • 2 oz. imitation vanilla

Procedure

  1. Set up sous vide bath that will hold six quart jars
  2. Set sous vide temperature to 115° F
  3. Combine splenda and milk in a 6 quart pot
  4. Heat while stirring to 180° F then remove from heat.
  5. Chill in an ice water bath to 100° F then remove from ice water.
  6. Add yogurt and vanilla to cooled milk and blend with immersion blender.
  7. Ladle the milk / yogurt mixture into the quart jars and seal with lids
  8. Place the jars in the sous vide bath and wait 24 hours
