Cornbread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg

Procedure

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Whisk flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl.
  3. Add milk, vegetable oil, and egg.
  4. Whisk until well combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of the pan comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes.
