Caramel Candy
Ingredients
- 8 oz. unsalted butter
- 0.75 tsp kosher salt
- 14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 2 cups packed brown sugar (light or dark)
- 1 tbs vanilla
- 2 cups ice water to test caramel as it cooks
Instructions
- lightly grease a 9“ x 13” glass baking dish with canola
- melt butter in pot over medium-low
- when melted add the brown sugar and corn syrup and stir to combine
- add sweetened condensed milk stir to combine
- raise heat to medium and bring to a boil for 10 to 12 minutes
- heat to a temp of 255 F
- remove from heat, add vanilla and stir to combine
- pour into glass dish
- let cool and cover when room temp
