====== Panda Express Orange Chicken ====== ===== Ingredients: ===== * 2 chicken breasts diced in 1 inch pieces * 1 egg * 1/4 cup cornstarch * 1/3 cup AP flour * salt and pepper ===== Sauce: ===== * 1/3 cup fresh orange juice * orange zest * 1 tablespoon white sugar * 1 tablespoon rice vinegar * 1 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce * 1 teaspoon sesame oil * 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water ===== Instructions: ===== - Dice your chicken into 1 inch pieces. - Crack in an egg with your diced chicken and mix with the cornstarch. Season with salt and pepper and let sit in the fridge while you mix the sauce. - For your sauce, add the ingredients except the cornstarch. Mix well and set aside. I prefer fresh orange juice (about 2 juicy oranges) and a bit of zest. This makes it taste more flavorful and has a delicate freshness. - Once your sauce is mixed, set aside. Pour your flour on your chicken mixture and toss well. Then fry in your wok in oil until golden brown. About 8 minutes on high heat. - Remove the chicken from the oil and carefully remove the oil from the wok. Place your chicken back into the wok and pour in the sauce. Coat the chicken in the sauce and pour in the corn starch water mixture. This will help thicken the sauce.
